I Just Changed My Battery And Now My Truck Wont Start I Have A 2001 F 150 , Lights , Door Locks ,everything Seems To Work. I Turn The Key And Nothing Any Ideas
Ok I Got The Truck Running By Jumping The Cylinoid On The Firewall. When I Turn The Key To The On Pos. Everything Comes On, The Chimes, The Dash Lights, The Radio, Just Like Normal. When I Turn The Key To The Start Pos. The Dash Lights Go Out Everything Go Off No Click At Starter No Power At Small Wire On Cylinoid On Firewall When I Turn The Key To Start Its Almost Like The Starting Sys. Is Disabled
When I Turn The Key To Start. The Small Wire On The Cylinoid Should Be Energized Which Should Connect The Big Wire From The Batt. To The Big Wire Going To The Starter. But When I Turn The Key The Small Wire Doesen't Get Power To It. Also I Have A Red Blinking Light At The Bottom Of My Dash Looks Like I Mite Have An Aftermarket Alarm. I Bought The Truck Used. I Can Start The Truck And Drive It Like Normal If I Jump The Cylinoid And That Red Light Stays Flashing
find the alarm kit and remove it all, make sure to resplice all wires that were cut, or it won't start or work. You are correct in suspecting the alarm. alot of after market alarms do that when they get old.
