Which rearends work best?

Hi
I have a few questions and maybe someone can answer them..
I havea 52 f-1 and it has the stock rearend with 3.92's in it. I think some ford trucks had a nine inch that would bolt right in place of my stock rearend. Does anyone know the years of those trucks
Also, i want to put overdrive, but not 2 sure yet. If i put the AOD in, will i have to mess around alot with the TV Cable and is it the same length as the c4. Thanks
