Just wondering how fast have you gone in you Super Duty? Did you have a programmer? Did you have a another detection device that tells you your speed, because the Super Duty Spedometer only goes to 100.
I think all of them are stock limited to 98. Once you get a tuner to unlock the top speed you would need something like a GPS to tell you your speed since, as you mentioned, the speedo is limited to 100.
Be very careful if you try and do extremely fast speeds in the SD. One, the tires are not rated for high rates of speed and two, a truck doesn't act like a car at high speeds.
Colorado State Patrol says 127 mph in my 2000 F 350 with K&N intake ,4" straigth exhaust and 75 hp diablo chip. Now have 2006 F 350 with Superchips tuner, waiting for better than stock tires for a real run.
dang, that is pretty fast for a diesel! i was in tow-haul and i tapped the brake going down hill, and the trailer pushed me up to 3900 rpm (with the 6.0) and i thought that was pretty unsafe! no wonder he blew the motor, 1700*+
I passed my boss on the way to work one day on the interstate. His car shuts off at 107 and I kept pulling away. The speedometer went to 100, back to 0, back to 100, back to 0 and stayed there. I let off because I dont have gauges and feared high EGT's. I have an 03 CC 4X4, 7.3 auto, 305/70's, SCMT 1705 set on perf tow. He was dumbfounded when we got to work as to seeing a diesel blow by him at 100+ mph. And keep accellerating.

1700 didn't phase the motor- several weeks after that pass I had the heads off for new gaskets and the pistons looked just fine. I was past 1700 for quite some time too, because it doesn't exactly just push you back in your seat past 130 mph.
To do what I did to that first motor, and how short of a time I was buried in the throttle (in comparison) it easily reached over 2000 degrees. I didn't have a pyrometer at the time, and I was running pure alcohol in the injection system.
I got mine new in "01 and have only hit 95 2 times and wife said that was enough never again, You are right they weren't built for speed I have a 350 7.3 powerstroke.
I cannot see running that fast if you want something that fast get a lambroghini {sp?} that will get ya there fast sure enough.
Lynn says it feels like the truck is stretching hahahaha :0) anyho bought mine for towing not speed although at times I see speed being a good thing..
Towing: a 30' boat and a 26' boat maybe a 4wheeler at times.
