Talked to one of my salesman today that drives a '04 F350 6.0 Jan. '04 build date and said he began to have injector failures at 60,000 miles. He now has 92,000 miles and has gone through 7 injectors so far. Is this what others are seeing for injector.
It seems so odd the way these 6.0 are some have major problems, and some have alot of little things as is the case with mine. mine has never put me on the side of the road but has had just about every sensor replaced 3 egr valves before the connector fell off and 1 antifreeze leak and 2 oil leaks 1 turbo pedestal replaced 2 rear main seals, 1 brake booster , 1 fuel module . all stock no mods, work truck that doesnt work. always in the shop.
The question I have is what will it take for ford to wake up and see there are more diesel buyers who want dependablity and mpgs then there who want race trucks, after all that is what got ford the market share to begin with, the tough truck and dependable engine the 7.3. OR WILL THE NEW TOYOTA DIESEL WAKE THEM UP.
It would be interesting, indeed. Ford could put a pretty good spin on a '07 Super Duty diesel loyalty discount. Make it very attractive for 6.0 owners.
Would probably go a long way to mending fences.
Word is, the 6.4 is being tested pretty good this time around. Hope so.
Given a very right deal and right set of circumstances...I could be had for an early 6.4 TT.
It is pretty evident that FMC is not worried about loyalty. Otherwise they would be alittle more understanding when we go in their and complain about their engineering disaster, that we are going to pay outlandish repair bills for if we keep them beyond the warranty period.
Draining the water seperator on a regular basis will probably extend the life of the injectors.... Which reminds me that I better drain mine as I just fueled up at a dirty rotten off-brand filling station over the weekend. It was either that or fill up in Mexico where the fuel was even scarier.
