are you talking about the oil dipstick? if so I hope you are not talking about coolant. If it is then you probably have a blown HG. GL

Check for a vacuum leak and your PCV valve. If you have any moisture getting into your cylinders you should check your pcv valve. It will get gummed up as oil and water will build up sludge in your crankcase. That or your engine is not reaching operating temperature. In the meantime, change your oil, take er for a good run and warm it good and see if that helps.

Drain your oil cold. If there is a quantity of water in it, it will be separated when cold. Do it yourself so you can see what's up. Get a fair sized container that you can hold in one hand and when you remove the drain plug hold it in place rather than dropping it quickly. The water will be on the bottom and will come out first. Let it out slowly into your container, (have your drain pan in place to catch the oil,) and when there is no more water (coolant?) move the container and let the oil drain normally.

The idea being, you find out how much water you are talking about. And you can determine if it is just water from condensation or is it engine coolant. If it is coolant Texans is probably right. Most common source would be a blown head gasket.

If it is coolant you should pull the head. That coolant in your oil can take out your engine bearings.

When you pull the head, try to do it in a way that will do the least damage to the head gasket so you can 'read' it. There is always visible evidence of failures and with a little study you can find the problem area. If you don't find anything you had better get the head magnafluxed to check for cracks.

One w/ a Fan Clutch, it takes some of the strain off the engine & can add a tick of performance back to it.

The water on the dipstick is most likely condensation. Do you run a thermostat ???? if not put one in as the engine never gets to operating temperature and will not evaporate the condensation. Condensation is also caused by short trip driving not allowing the engine come up to temp. Clogged PCV valve causes no crankcase ventilation and no condensate removal. If you have water in the oil it will (the oil) look like a chocolate shake.

Did you drain your oil yet?

Was it water or was it coolant?

I had the exact same problem for the past 4-5 months. I started getting moisture in my oil after I put on the 4 barrel and open air filter. I didnt hook the pcv valve or the oil breather up, but after I hooked both those things up the moisture went completely out of the oil after 10 miles. On a normal day I would check the oil and have more moisture on the stick then oil...Glad I got it fixed.

Good, you lucked out. Are you able to say how much water came out?

Put in a new pvc valve and make certain that the hose is completely clear. Also, as Boss50 said, If you have a seperate breather tube, make sure it is clear too, including the filter.
