F-250 4x4 flatdeck

Would like to put a small, light weight deck on my 4x4 to better haul quads and the like. Would anyone out there have plans on construction or thoughts on pros and cons Help
Thx

i build mine out of 4x4s for the frame mounts and 2x6s for the deck. bolt them instead of nailing and use treated wood for resistance to weather. it reduces your bed weight by about 300 lbs, the materials are about $200.00(i f you buy new), bucks and you will never be happier. it gives you the option of adding sides and being able to haul just about any thing, bob

I built one using three inch channel for the perimeter frame, but mounted it as low as possible so I had to build wheel well boxes but it was worth it for the lower height. The dividend is the lower center of gravity and also greater ease of loading.

I used two inch square tube for cross pieces that sat on the mounting points. And one inch square tube to fab up a header frame. Header an deck were 3/4" marine plywood, painted.
