I have a 1999 F350 Superduty Crew Cab with a 7.3 engine and 145K miles Using a K&N air intake and filter, Amsoil in the Transmission and engine. The engine is running very strong. My problem is noise. From inside the cab with the windows closed, not a problem. At a toll gate with the window open, wow, I have to shout. Even had negative remarks from some of the neighbors. Is there anything I can do to make it less noisy?
maybe throw some diesel kleen in there, might quiet down. and id tell the neighbors to go to a particular place, if ya know what im talking about. its a free country. i hate people like that.

My 99 F350 Diesel CC is also louder than any other.. I have to shut of the truck at drive up windows.. Many mechanics have told me the noise is the Tourque Converter coming apart.. It sounds like rattles or marbles are in the engine.. It blends in with the regular diesel sounds so I never noticed it.. I thought it was just the way diesels were... This could be your problem also..
