I took my '78 F-100 to a frame alignment shop to get my twin I beam straighten out and they said I need to straighten out the bow in the right axle, replace the king pins, both shocks, align both axles and replace the axel pivit bearings for a total of 1200.00 dollars. Does anyone have any experience in this area. I have a donor but it's a '70 model. I think they are the same...

If the truck has not had those items replaced in a long time, it's probably overdue for work. Fortunately, a lot of that work can be done by the driveway mechanic for a lot less. I'd shop around for estimates if you wouldn't do it yourself & maybe a second opinion first....items like shocks and radius arm bushings are really easy, the pins are a little involved (can be), but still not hard to do. Most dificult thing to do would be to find a shop that will bend the I-beams accordingly - do that after all the above...
