Same as mine. Stand on the throttle in neutral and the engine revs up to that point and no further. Rev limiter built in.

This is in gear though. I don't ever remember the RPM's getting that high even at WOT about a month ago. I was seeing like 2800-2900 at the most.

I am perplexed. Something has changed, and I just washed my hands and tools.

I have a six speed and can bring the R's up to 3300, I think. When I replaced a couple of injectors part of the process is running it that high for 10 miles to work the air out of the high pressure oil rails.

Factory rev limiter is 3400. You should be able to peg it easily in any gear except maybe OD

I saw 3500 on "stock" settings, and the truck isn't pulling like it used to. I seem to have lost my medium and upper power. I will probably end up removing the transmission and torque converter to investigate.

You are right Cookie, I can peg my 6S in any gear but OD. Just seems to run out of ooomph! Looks like 2900 RPM and 96MPH is the limit.

[envy] With my 4.88's I hit the rev limiter at 83 mph in 6th gear.
