Brake Problems Continue.... help!
I am still having problems with the brakes on my truck. The pedal is very soft, and will make it all the way to the floor if I keep pushing and it does not stop well at all. The pedal is also very slow to return after it is pushed down. If I pump the brakes slowly 2-3 while stopping, the pedal does firm up quite a bit. Here is what I have done/replaced so far while working on this truck:
Replaced front Calipers and Pads
Turned Front Rotors
Replaced Rear Drums, Pads, & Hardware Kit
Replaced Rear Wheel Cylinders
Replaced Master Cylinder (bench bled & on truck)
Replaced Both E-Brake Cables
Bled and Bled Brakes, including RABS
The pedal seemed to get better initially after the master cylinder, but after letting the truck sit for a week or so, it was back to it's old self. The only thing I can think of is a bad RABS, or a soft brake line that is seeping fluid but not enough to really show. I've checked for leaks. The brake booster seems to be fine. With the truck turned off, if you press the pedal a couple of times, it gets really stiff. Also, my park brake does not engage enough to hold the truck it. The E-brake pedal just drops to the floor without it tightening the cables, so I guess I'll have to figure out how to adjust that.
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas what could still be cuasing the soft pedal and lack of brakes? I need to start towing with it, but can't until I get the brakes sorted out. Thanks for any help that you can provide!
