some problems with my truck

I got a 1988 F150 XLT Lariat, 5 speed manual, 302 V8. Basically, it really likes its oil, I just had to add 3 quarts, and that is only 1 1/2 months after the last oil change. It looks like the rear main seal is leaking, and oil is all over the oil pan and the transmission, and when it was low, the gears clicked, and it was loose overall, the gears mashed, and would grind, and the clutch didnt seem to fully engage. Does the engine and the transmission run off the same oil or whatever? As soon as I added more oil, the clicking went away, the idling smoothed out, the gears felt tighter or whatever, and it ran much nicer overall.

Another problem, when I put it in neutral, and then push down the clutch and try to go to reverse, it grinds. I have to put it in first, keep holding the clutch and then slam it back into reverse. And sometimes reverse doesn't even engage, it stops halfway into the gear and grinds, so I have to put it back to neutral and really slam it in there. What is the problem here?

Another problem, the vents aren't pushing out even half as much air as they should. How would I go about fixing this?

And yet another problem is that it runs high, about 500 rpm higher than normal, I have to rev the engine or let it idle for about 2 minutes to get it to go back to normal. I checked the vacuum hose, and the filter to it was completely clogged, so I took it out, and it just disintegrated, so there is no filter there right now, but it still runs high, what else could be a problem here?

Thanks for any help, this is a really old truck, and I only got it for $1400, so of course there are alot of problems haha. Oh yeah and wehre can I get new ***** for the wipers and lights? mine broke off.
