4 pos chip install problem

I finally got aound to trying to install my tp performance 4 postion chip in my 00f250 diesel, the fellow I bought the truck from about 5 months ago gave me the chip and also a hypertech programer which he said was installed and had to be taken back to stock before installing the chip ? I plugged the programmer in and turned the ignition to run and nothing ,no power on the progarmer ! Does this mean I can not install the 4 pos chip untill I get the programer fixed ???
any sugestions ? thanks for your help

You can try it. I think the chip will over wright the programmer. Call and ask were you got the chip they should know.

On my '99, I blew the cig. lighter fuse and the power to the code reader port. Replaced the fuse and the code reader had power. Hope this helps.

A chip will over-ride any tuner. Your TS chip will over-ride the Hypertech. Go for it. There will be a huge difference.
