6.4L Order

Well I had my local dealer e-mail me the other day to ask if I have found a truck yet. I have had my 6.0L since June but I figured I would ask and see what they say. I told them I am still looking but I want to wait for the 6.4L to come out. The sales guy replied they should be taking orders for the new PSD in november and he would let me know as soon as he can order one. Keep in mind this is a sales guy but it looks like the 07 may really have the 6.4L in it.
I will post any news I get.
By the way I love my 6.0L it makes my old 351W seem like a four banger.

Thanks for the info. I can hardly wait to test drive one. Don't think I'd buy one though, unless the fuel economy is much much better than my 6.0. My 6.0 has pleanty of poop for me. Still wanna test drive a 6.4 though.

Well, historically for Ford, Jan / Feb would be about right for an early release.

It does sound a bit early. Just keep in mind who said it. A salesman!

Don't want to offend anyone but keep in mind I was speaking to a SALESMAN!!!!!
If you ever worked as an installer of any kind you know the sales crew tells you you can have anything right now even if it's not true.

Alright now, enough of this SALESMAN pookey.

Couldn't tell you how many fires I've had to put out 'cause the INSTALLER or production screwed up.

No offense.

I went to one dealer while looking for my new 05, and the truck dept. sales manager swore the 05 F250 had a center console as an option and they had one on the lot. After he spent half an hour looking for it ( while I looked around at trucks that actually existed ) he said they would have to order it, rather than admit he doesn't know squat. Sales people at dealerships are like realtors, your better off doing your own research and bypass being treated like an idiot.

Baka,
There is an option for a center console in the F-250, it's the King Ranch option. Maybe the salesman isn't as crazy as you thought.(Although he should have known it was a King Ranch.)

Can't argue with that. Haven't found a dealership salesperson yet that knew as much as I did about any vehicle I have purchased. Research is important though, no matter what you purchase.

It has been my general experience with dealership sales people that their position is mis-titled. They typically sell nothing. Their main purpose is to put you close to a product, and act as a go between from you to the Sales Manager and back. They basically have no influence on the deal either way. Maybe they should be called J.I.P.s ...Just Information Providers.

We are fortunate, here at FTE, that we have have a couple of resident dealership sales professionals that not only care enough to learn about the product they sell but, more importantly, care about the people they sell to.

That would be Jeff and PolarBear. Left and right coast dealerships. Wish we had their character, integrity, and knowledge openly available to us here in the DFW area. I would really appreciate someone with their attributes.

KW5413: Didn't mean to imply all sales people are worthless. You made an important point, there is a hugh difference between a sales professional and a salesman, excellent response!! The center console the manger was talking about was similar to the F150, with console shifter (center console and dash are one unit) not the one like in the F250 Lariat int.
