Hey guys im back with another problem . here it is. when i drive when i give it gas to go faster and downshift sometimes it seems to get stuck in the current gear and it feels like it doesnt know what gear to shift into then say 10 seconds later it catches up and shifts and speeds up. lately going say 30 u can feel it bucking a little bit until i give it gas to accell or let off on the gas.. im not sure if this is a definite but i tried taking OD off by pressing the button on the column shifter and it doesnt seem to do it. does anyone have any ideas? the guy i bought it from said the trans was rebuilt and it didnt do this when i bought it about 3 or 4 months ago. please i dont wanna rebuild any ideas?
Awesome thanks for the help. and im not sure if either of these things help diagnose it but its a 95 f 350 with 116k miles and its had a check engine light been coming on intermittently on and off.. it does it mostly randomly but ive noticed that a few times i can cause it to come on by driving a certain way. i was driving up a hill bearing right on a road near my house and it comes on every time i do that and then it goes off a little while later it also does it randomly on the highway and it seems to be staying on for longer lately.
Ok i def will. will a code come up even without the check engine light on or do i need to check it when it comes on? thanks alot everyone i appreciate it greatly
Hey guys i took it to a transmission place today they said the tranny was fine and they said that the engine had 3 codes which were all pretty much fuel related.. they said one deals with egr.. one with an 02 sensor and the other one i dont know. ill post the three codes when can find the paper with them on it. well i have an appointment to have straight pipes put on with 2 chamber flowmasters and im going to replace the oxygen sensor while im at it.. is there more than one?
I bet you have a cracked vacuum line, one of the plastic lines running down the pass side of the engine. It drove me nuts until I found it. Yes, same engine, same symptoms.
maybe. there was a thing like an egr valve looking thing symmetrically on the other side of the engine that had wat looked like a hole for a big vacuum line and theres nothign attached to it and its sucking in air. should there be something there?
