Pyro Install

I was watching Trucks today and they took out the exhaust manifold to drill and tap for the pyro. Would you guys recommend that, or is it extra work. Thanks

That seems like a lot of work. I did mine on the truck. There is plenty of room to work if you do it from underneath. Just be careful and start with small bits. I even magnitized mine so all the shavings would stick to it. I haven't had any problems.

i just drilled a hole, and then tapped it. the cast iron ruined my tap, but somehow still cut a clean thread pattern in. then i just vaccuumed the shavings out the best i could with a shop vac for about 30 seconds, then tightened the probe in. i have a pic in my gallery.

if you take it off plan on getting it resurfaced to line back up properly. dont waste your time and just drill it on the truck. those little metal flakes arent going to hurt anything.

dont try to squeeze the installation in. make sure you have more than enough time than what you think it will take. you dont want to get caught between a rock and a hard place.
