Power Steering leak...

Hello all,
I am new hear, this is my first time posting!
Its been a long time a coming!
I have a tried and true BLUE 1991 Ford F-150 4X4.
It has the 302 EFI engine with over 188K miles on it!

It is time to do some things to it since I had it for this long, so this will not be my first and only post!

Anyways, I just changed the pressure side Power Steering hose to the pump.
I thought that was bad, since it looked a little wet around it, and it actually had wear on the hose itself.
I am still getting a leak coming from the front and my PS fluid goes down every so often.
I cleaned up the around around the leak, and found the leak to be coming from around the PS box around wear the box and the Pitman around meet.

I think it is the seal in the PS box itself.
What is my best option?

DO I:
A.) replace the box and all.
or
B.) just take off the box and put a new seal in it?

ANY THOUGHTS!
THANKS.

TONY Z.

replace the box..I tried the seal route and was out the additional time & $20 when it failed...there are seal UNDER the outside one that appears to leak.....the one you see is more of a weather seal to keep dirt/water out

Thanks for the tip.
How much was your NEW BOX?

PS. how is your actual PS pump holding up?
Mine always moans and whins, when the fluid is low.

Auto Zone or Advance I think cost about $239....lifetime warranty
Junkyards want about $50 -$75 around here in Buffalo...like 30 day warranty

the Ford PS pumps seem to all make at least a little moan.....usually when they whine its time.....junkyards are a good source for on the cheap fix...almost all fords use same one....biggest downside is taking off the pump in the junkyard & then not knowing if its any good....near double the work if your lucky...maybe triple if not....alternative....NEW IS NEW...$$$$$

my 93 f-350 diesel seems to leek a lot too...common problem i guess...thanks for the posts; very helpful! my cap looks like it doesn't sit right. i have been too lazy to try to fix that but wanted to mention it because it may give the appearance of a more serious leak and would be an easy fix.
