In the process of swapping doors and repairing the hinges all 3 bolts on the bottom hinge broke off. As far as I can see there is no way to access the plate the bolts thread into, so my options are to cut a hole on the kick panel inside or to try and weld a nut on what's left of the bolt. Not much room to get at it because they are slightly recessed, but I don't know what else to try.
Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks for all help.
I've seen PB Blaster mentioned many times and I've looked for it here in Canada but never seen it.
I was hoping an easy-out wasn't the recommended method, but thanks. Looks like it will be interesting anyway.
How on earth did they get that plate inside there anyway??

Not sure if it is on the pickups, but some of those plates just sit in a holder inside the body, you can just take them out and work on them on the bench.
They put the nuts in there before spot welding the a-pillar together, so some kind of surgery to get back in there would be necessary, I would have to go look at mine again to make any recommendations...
There is a brand of penatrating fluid out there that works better then PB Blaster but it is a fair bit more expensive. I've seen is used in the aerospace business. Believe it or not it is called Mouse Milk. Web site: WWW.Mousemilk.com. They are located in Califormia and the site has an order form. Check out the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), it has some serious ingredients.

Looks like wild stuff, at almost $1.00 an ounce I guess it should be. I wonder what getting it across the border would be like. I'll look into it, thanks.
If I can't get the broken bolts out I'll open it up from the inside kick panel.
