Durable manuals...
I have heard nothing but praises sung to the C6 automatic transmission. My problem is that I cannot stand driving automatics. When I get into an automatic automobile, I "automatically" start fidgeting, and reaching for the stick shift. So here's my question... What is a totally bulletproof manual transmission by Ford? Something that will take the crazy horsepower that you throw at it, etc, etc, etc...

Manual transmissions by their very nature have a limit on the torque they will transmit based on the internal shaft diameters and the strength of the case. As the gears are loaded they tend to push apart which puts a tremendous stress on the case etc. They tend to explode when they hit that torque limit.

And as Torque explained the manual transmission gears will explode when there torque limit is reached. Ive seen Oshkosh 9spd manual transmissions capable of taking the 1500 ftlbs of torque the Big L10 Cummins engines produce, completly Obliterate everything inside the case so if your going to go past the torque limit you better have a few backups with you.
The only way you can Build Up a manual is to buy hardened shafts which again have its weakness's. The harder metal gets the more brital it is so shock loading would be bad.

Top loaders work up to a limit, then you buy a Jerico.
Dodge Viper trannys will work, you just need to find a scattershield to mount it with...
And the list could go on and on...
