Just thinking --- I would like to take off all 4 cats, install MIL eliminators for the O2 sensors, and run true dual out with thrush magnum glasspacks, or something of the sort. Anybody have any experience doing this, or what would magnaflow exhaust sound like. I do know that the cats will go for sure and the MIL's will be installed. I am thinking it could be an expensive undertaking. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
well, on my 99f250 5.4L, i removed my single cat, and put in a flowmaster 40 series single in/dual out in the cat's place. then i had the pipes run out to the rear. it actually sounds really good, but i do wish i went with a 4" echo tip rather than the ones i have which are about 2.75 inches. i didnt mess with the O2 sensor at all, and it runs great. no CE light, and fuel mileage is the same as ever. i do still have the cat though in case i ever move to a state that requires one. good luck !!
my friend has a 4.6 triton and he has true dual exhaust and has resonators off a 93 mustang gt. he has the loudest truck in the county. every one here drive big jacked up trucks. so im guessing if you have a 5.4 it will be even louder. another friend of mine had a 5.4 triton in his before he sold it and he had true dual with straight pipe. it wasnt as loud as the 4.6 but it was a high pitched sound.
