Talking Stored Engine Prep to Run

Hi All
Due to some personal and medical issues the engine I completed has been sitting in my garage for a year. now we are ready to get the project going again. I had wrapped the engine in shrink wrap and was wondering if I should pull the heads and pan and check everything out before moving ahead. What are your thoughts? Thanks guys

Oh yeah, my son got married and was given a quad for their wedding present from the inlaws. We are thinking about removing the bed and installing a flat bed. How bout a 400hp flat bed, quad hauler with stack exhausts behind the cab?

i would oil the cylinders then run it as planned. but do the cam break in for 20 to 25 mins also prime the oiling system.

While the plugs are still out, you should be able to turn the crank by hand. After squirting oil in the cylinders I prefer to let it leak down overnight, or at least turn the crank to pump out any excess before re-installing the plugs.

I've been thinking about stacks, heard the sound resonates through the cab something terrible. Give it a try and let me know.

BTW, congrats on your son, may they grow old together.
