If one works.....
I went to find out why the valve covers leak so bad on my 352. The cork gaskets were cut in 2 pieces along the seam between the head and the intake. So I cleaned up the seam and found the metal gasket was potruding 1/4 inch up, enough to keep the valve cover from siting flush. As I began to trim it, I noticed it seemed to be rather stiff and thick. Paper/metal/paper, sealant, paper/metal/paper. It looked almost an eigth of an inch thick, too. So I picked apart the piece I sawed off. It sure looked like 2 gaskets. So I checked lower down between the head and the intake, behind the accessory mount, where a 1 inch tab sticks out. Sure enough, there are 2 tabs there, sandwiched together. There are alos 2 gaskets under the thermostat, 2 under the carb spacer, 2 gaskets between the head and the exhaust manifold. I thought I was seeing double.
Any bets on it maybe having 2 head gaskets?
