While I was replacing my FPR guts, I noticed on the inboard side of the rocker covers there is a plug. One on each bank. What are these for?
I ask since I noticed that there is one lead on each plug that has been stripped and now is bare wire. Time to fix that up before I start shorting something out.
if its what i think your talking about that is the wiring harness for your injectors and glow plugs. i would definately replace that harness is theres bare wire. can you get a pic?
That sounds reasonable. Its strange that its the same on both banks. Maybe the previous owner was doing some mods or something. I'll snap some pics of it before I fix it up.
or a rodent issue. they like chewing that insulation. if that stuff shorts out it can bake your idm too. its 115vdc on thoose wires when your truck is running.
I took some pictures of it, they are in my gallery . It looks like a bare loop of wire ,not a stripped wire. I checked the other connectors as well and the loop of wire is there too. I wish I had my tech manual here.
