When its warm outside and I have the main tank full on my 73 f250 it leaks out the cap. Someone told me once that the in-cab tank is subject to the heat in the cab and forces the fuel out. Do I just need a new cap or should I replace the in-cab tank with an external one?
Yeah the main tank pukes on warm days when it’s full. I don’t fill mine up all the way unless I know I will be burning it off right away.
You could change the cap but then the whole system can become pressurized and leak out of cracked hoses, loose fittings, the tank switch, fuel pump etc. Something to watch for.
