Yes, you can. Just replace the two hoses that run to/from the carb plate with one at starts at the engine (I forget if it starts at the water pump or intake manifold) and ends at the fire wall. It is easy to see once you look at it. I replaced my heated spacer with a phenolic spacer when I installed my Demon carb and aluminum intake manifold. It may take slightly longer to warm up when the weather is cool/cold (I like to drive the Gal on cold, crisp winter days when the sun is out and the roads clear just to give her some exercise), but I don't notice any degradation in performance, nor have I ever had a problem with carburetor icing. In fact, she runs better with the cooler air charge. I don't recommend blocking off the intake manifold exhaust heat crossover passage on a car that is driven on the street, however. You do neat some heat in the intake to help atomize the fuel in the winter.
