I have a lot of experience/knowledge with mustangs, but recently started getting interested in Ford trucks. Im considering buying a 96 F150 and was wondering if the 5.0 and 5.8 in these trucks uses the roller cam motors similar to the mustang HO motors.

Since 86 for the 5.0 and since 91 for the 5.8 the motors have been roller cam-able. whether or not you have said cam is up to individual inspection. The GT cam and the truck cam will be different on lift and event timing.

I have a 91 Lariat with a 5.8 engine. How can you tell if it is a roller or not just by looking at it?
you cant tell just by looking at them. I figured they were either all roller cam or not for certain years, but apparantly thats not the case. You need to do some ford engine research to find out if yours is for sure or not. Let us know what you find out.
