AN OPINION OR TWO, please

With the added power that these aftermarket chips give to our PSD's why does Ford not just dial it into the computer from the get go? Last week my Superchips gold quit for no good reason. It cost me $400.00 between CPS, fuel filters and finally towing to the local Ford store to find that out. Back to stock now, and I almost don't even like my truck anymore. That is the kind of difference this chip was making. Now, without it I can damn near watch my fuel gauge move towards the empty mark.

well in my opinion, the reason they dont crank it up at the factory is because they know that the tranny, brakes, rotors and other components wont fair too wee with that much power. The most power international intended the 7.3 to make was 620 ft torque and about 250 hp. Mostly al the 7.3's used in international applications, ie buses and cab/chassis come stock with 620ft torque and 230hp

I agree that ford should have sent the 7.3 out the door with 620ft torque.

Aslo ford uses thier own cpu module to control the engine. They are very easily swappable as i am looking for an internation cpu as we speak so that i can let international flash my truck

Read the specs at the bottom of this page/link
