I have a 1987 F250 utility beds, I need to know if a 351 Midland moter will mount into my 302 efi engine compartment without any major problems or changes made to my mounts. The new (to me) 351 is a 1978 model.Thank you to anyone who can advise me in this matter.
a 351w would be a direct bolt in for your 302 and will give you the power your looken for. the 302 wiring harness and motor mounts and accessorys will all bolt to a 5.8. try and find one from 88-94 if you can . otherwise check ebay for the upper/lower efi intake from a 5.8 they are way cheap . this way you can keep efi. i did a similar swap in my bronco and never looked back.
I've heard the term Midland before. It's someone's answer to what a 351Modified is. To some people, there's no way you could call a stock 351M a 'Modified' engine.
that would have to be what he is refering to, the 351modified. ford came up with the name simply because they needed a way to distinguish the three 351s in books and the 351m was a "modified" 400.
