Nice...I'm looking to do the same set up on my 04' X. Do you get any exhaust drone with the MBRP Exhaust & how does it sound compared to stock? Is your X a 6.0?

Talking sounds good

Yes my X is an 04 also, with the 6.0. I have not driven my X on the highway yet, but around town it sounds great. I keep the cat inplace so the turbo whine is just a tad over stock(dont like the full blown turbo whistle thing). It has a growl when you get on it, but sounds mostly like stock. I wanted the performance not, the loud sound, so it is just perfect for my taste.

How is the Edge platinum programmer? Does it actually program your tranny. I heard negative things about the normal Edge Juice. Is this new with the Platinum? Also, did you have to weld anything with your new Exhaust or was it a perfect kit. How much?

Thumbs up

The platnum edge does modify your tranny, you can manually lock your converter, set hard shift patterns for racing, change axle ratio and tire size, you can do quite a few mods. I think it is the best money spent, i am having a blast driven my X now. I really havent even used the top 2 settings yet(race, extreme)letting the system and computer get used to each other. The cool down feature is very nice, set the time of cooling, remove key from ignition and walk away, truck shuts down at specified time or temp. The exhaust kit is totally bolt on, I took extra time to remove the trans support so I didnt have to cut factory downpipe. I wanted to save the downpipe and all pieces, just in case, I didnt liked the sound of the new exhaust. It sounds just a tad over stock but the performance gain is hugh, my gas mileage is going up even though Im stomping it everywhere I go. Total price for MBPR exhaust and Edge platnum $1400.00. This is my second X, but now I can appreciate why we love them so. Performance monster truck? Priceless

Thanks for the information -- I've been reading about MBPR versus Banks versus Edge versus Bully Dog ... almost too many options ... I might follow your choice.

power gains w/ MPG?

I too have just installed performance equip on my 7.3 psd X. A 4" turbo-back s.s. Magnaflo exhaust & a edge evolution programmer. Looked at many many types an settled for these. MPG w/ the exhaust increased by +/- 2 with good power gain at low end. And with the edge set at mid level (race) provided incredible power gains....its GREAT. cant imagine what the "extreme" setting will do. MPG jumped to 35 at first??? this worried me...thought too much boost? called shops who said it would come back down after computer learned the controller. Now is at about 29 MPG with this big diesel INCREDIBLE!!! never dreamed this could occur.
Anyone have comments about this strange MPG gain....could something be wrong which could be hurting the life of the engine??? please respond with comments

Is this the calculated MPG or what the "lie-o-meter" is telling you on the console? I was getting 22-23 in my 7.3 with 4" and predator, but 32 sounds wonderfull (and impossible?).
