Hi,...I'm new to this site ...purchased 2002 v10 Limited Excursion
Having problems with door switches. Had dealer look at them...
1st time: tech lubricated them 0$ (no results)
2nd time: replaced failed switch 50$ (still no results)
So, I'm following the posts and spraying the latches myself, Also, driver side heated seat not working, so I,ll look at it. Other than that it drives pretty decent .
for the seat I would check 2 things 1 the fuse in the fuse box. 2 the connection under the seat if the seat has ever been removed many people forget to reconnect it. the fuse may have been removed because alot of people hit the switch on accident with their leg getting in and out.
for the door switches what do you mean? what are you refering to and whats wrong with them. what do or dont they do.
When i refered to the door switches...I'm mean the door ajar switches,
(when closed... the door ajar light and runner board, and dome lights would stay on. ) So, when I read posts here at this site, the suggestion was to spray
with wd40 into the door latches to resolve the problem...which I did and its
working so far. apparently these switches fail because of dust, dirt and what have you...the wd40 seems to remedy the problem.
Thanks for the tip on the seat.
Glad to be onboard...so far so good on the door ajar switches( after spraying wd40 into door latches the switches are working) . Now I checked under the driver seat to see if the heater is plugged in...Holy cow there is alot of elctric going on under the seat, but all appear to be plugged in, now I havent check the fuse but I'm seeing the led on the button comes on when depressed so i think it is getting power which tells me it might be the element.???
