my truck is a 99 f-150 4.2 4x4 and here is the problem
when i start the vehicle lets say at 6am, i have to turn the lights on and i turn the def/floor on full blast with heat. when i am driving it is fine, but when i go to push in the clutch, the RPM go down to about 400, then jump back to 1000, then back down, then back up continuously until i give it some gas.
i have found out that if i turn the def/floor down to 1 speed, it will idle correctly. what do you all think???? i checked the grounds and power, had the alt. and battery both checked out, they are good. please guys help me out on this one...thanks
I don't know about Manuals, but with autos, there is a motor (the IAC) mounted by the throttle body. If it were an automatic, that would be the first thing I would check, but you will have to see if you have one. They can go bad and screw up the idle.
