AM Radio Interference

AM Radio Interference
I have a 2002 F350 with 7.3 and live in the Baltimore/DC area. At the lower end of the AM band (630) there is a lot of interference when I touch the brake or turn up the fan switch. Furthur up the dial(680) there is none.
Any suggestions?

Try Radio Shack/ electronics supply for a filter for your radio. Out of curiosity, is it the stock radio? AM/FM or AM only? I've never had a problem with the stock radios, I believe they have noise filters built in, maybe yours is no bueno.

Also check all the antenna connections, I have had many bad connections over the years, and usually you will not see anything visibly wrong with them, just check for a tight fit and wiggle them around to clean the connection. I usually do this with the radio on so I can find the problem area. Places to check are behind the radio, at the antenna, and sometimes a mid plug at the kick-panel near the dash corner. Hope this helps.
