Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew if I could install a 6' 6" Western Snow Plow to my '97 F-250 HD.
(Its an older one)
It says that it will fit a 80-96 F-150 / Bronco......
Will the Bronco mount work? or Will I have to modify it a little?
Or Does anybody know if I could just buy an adapter kit by Western that will work?
i think the plow itself would work, as long as they are similar to all models. what you probably only need to do is get the mounting system that is on your truck, and the plow should mount right up. check ebay or a plow trader, to find the mounting system that will make it mount on your truck. good luck.
It's probably possible, but not a good idea to be honest with you. That 6.5' blade is too small for that truck. You will be able to clear a path as wide as the truck only with the blade straight, angle it all and you'll be running over the windrow. That's gonna make for a long night.

The plow is too small for your truck. You need at least a 7 and a half foot blade. I would go with a 8 foot blade if you are going into buisness. If you go to www.snowplowing-contractors.com there is loads of information and very helpfull people on that site.
last year we had three 7.5' plows, i didnt really like them unless you were doing tight driveways. we had two 8.5'ers on duallies, and i ran a 9' plow (the '04). it was a pleasure to drive and clear that much snow. if your front end can handle the weight and you will not be doing alot of tight driveways, i would get the 8' version.
I had a 78 Bronco that I mounted a 6.5' plow on and as long as the blade was straight it was acceptable. I've also had a 7.5' western on a 79 F-150 and an 8' boss on an 86 F250. Two years ago I bought 9' snoway for my 99 DRW F350. This is by far the best set up i've ever plowed with. It is a polycarbonate blade so not terrribly heavy, it has optional downpressure and wireless remote. The only problem is that the wireless remote has to be in just a few positions to transmit through the engine.
