hey alll, it has been a while since my last post, but here goes; my ABS light came on, the ABS portion of my ride completely died, and after getting the codes for it turns out the "module" is dead. i asked him how much for a new one and no S**t, he said 1400.00. Could someone tell my why car dealers think they can hose me? i am not some idiot savant that drives a ford. after looking around for this "module" on net, i a came across different names for a similar part. the prices ranges from 148 to 560 dollars! i am clueless here. any suggestions?
Sure its the modual? Most of the ones I worked on had a seized pump motor, water gets into it. The electric motor is easy to replace and you can get it cheap out of a junk yard. Many fords use the same motor, such as a crown vic. Wire connector may be differant but you can rewire that. You can also test your ABS pump motor by jumping it and powering it up,if it doesn't pump than its the motor. If it does than somethng else is the matter, but ussally its the motor.
i am going to replace the ecu in the front end. i found one because, it is cheaper and newer than mine
if that doesnt work then the hydralic unit is spent
hi all,
it would seem that the motor is bad on the hcu pump. i have a manual, which doesn't explain how to swap the electric motor. any ideas? also, does anyone know where to get a replacement motor?
thanks
