Hello, I'm a newbie diesel owner. I have a 1990 1 Ton, with a 7.3L. I have just changed my Fuel/water seperater Filter and it won't start now. I did it by the Ford manual and did not put fuel in the filter since it say's it will purge any air out by itself. Any ideas?

take the filter back off and fill it with clean fuel. The engine will NOT clean out that much air. DONT CRANK ON THE STARTER TOO LONG !!!!!!!! sensitive to overheating.
You may also have to loosen the injector fuel lines to bleed the air out.
While you are at it, plug in the block heater for an hour or so before you try to start the engine.
I pulled the filter to add the diesel and it was filled to the rim. Put it back on and got it to fire up. It didn't want to come out of an idle for a couple minutes but seems to be fine now. Thanks for the tip.
