'00 250 vibration
2000 F250 4X4 V10 auto,
I get a mild vibration driving down smooth roads at certain speeds. Can be felt at about 40 then quits around 45. Can be felt again around 60-65 (a little worse than the slower speeds) and quits again about 70. Feels a little like a front tire out of balance. Can't be felt when braking, just driving straight down the highway.
So far, my attempt at diagnosis has been:
1) Rotated tires, no difference
2) Had tires balanced, no difference
3) Checked for excess wheel play thinking bearings, no play, turns smooth
4) No abnormal amount of brake drag noticeable
5) Checked front/rear gear oils, trans fluid, etc, all full and changed not too long ago.
Not quite sure where to go from here. Everything else has been great with this truck and the vibration isn't really that bad. In fact, probably noone else would notice it
But, if it's a warning sign of a problem I'd rather fix it before it becomes a major issue.

How much play do you have in the carrier (swing) bearing?
Have you closely checked each ujoint?
Surprised though, I would think that a ujoint would be more a constant than coming and going with various speeds. But, I was talking to a friend who mentioned his dakota acted the same way with a ujoint going bad.
Anyway, thanks again guys! All should be well assuming this is actually the problem.
