You guys want a good junkyard with a LOT of the old (I mean real old!) stuff? Try Rons Auto Salvage up by Allison, Iowa. A bit east of highway 14, and a bit south of highway 3.
There's loads of '70's Ford pickup trucks up there, various old cars that I haven't looked at yet, I've even seen the old rusting out flathead or two. FE motors galore. This is where I got an old 360 motor for $35. If you know where to look up there, there is actually quite a few old Mustangs (1960's and early '70's). Loads of '80's Mustangs. Admittedly most beyond repair, but still good for the occasional part or 2.
I almost hate to tell anyone about it; I'd rather keep it to myself.
If you call / go up there, tell him Kurt sent you. I need all the help I can get.
LOL - I was looking at your location in your post banner BFE (aka CF Iowa). Not a real place, but I remember being a kid and hear Bum F*@&, Eqypt and I figured you lived in Cedar Falls and weren't impressed. Seems like everyone hacks on Iowa at some point in their life - LOL. I grew up in the "City of 5 Seasons"... Cedar Rapids. I've heard that it was Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and those days when the smell of Quaker Oats was blowing your way..... also heard it as the "City of 5 Stinks", etc.
I think I've been to either the yard you're talking about or one like it somewhere around there. The place I went to ONLY had old stuff. This was 1 0years ago or so and the neat thing was the old vehicles had thicker metal so the was tons of surface rust, but fewer holes than todays beaters.
sounds like a good place to checkout up there but thats a long way from clinton ,may have to pack an overnight bag lol.was close to there last week on my way up to the twin cities. will keep that in mind next time i go up there
