steering question

I just ordered some new front leaves wich will accomidate a 4inch lift....will I have to change the steering or should it be ok..I heard you can do a 4inch withouta dropped pitman arm or anything...I have a dropped one on my other truck I could take, since its gettign redone soon anyways.............?

you shoudl be just fine. its not you can't get it later. only problem is that with the TRE being at such an angle it may wear it out quicker. make sure you pack it full of grease often!

Its not that commen but fords do suffer from the same frame stress as chevys.Mainly from lifts with littel to no steering corrections.Fishy is right,you my not need one,just check the frame around the steering box and make sure there are no cracks.

Well you kinda answered your own question if it bothers you then get the drop pitman arm so your not worried about it would be my advice. Basically if it's something thats gonna be in the back of your mind as bieng wrong then correct it now.

umm are the pitman arms different between coilsrping and leafspring?

shouldn't be. if the gearboxes are different they may be but i *think* they are the same.

looking at them they look the same, although the leaf spring one has a bit of a different shape I think the drop off the coilspring one will work.

FWIW I used an F150 drop pitman on my F250 box, it fit perfect.
