view under hood

Currently i have a 292 with the cast 4bbl manfold with a ford 4 bbl with black spacer, the intake is silver/ alum color, i have chrome stamped ford valve covers, chrome after market 14" air cleaner with a 5 " tall filter, chrome oil cap, black vallve cover, black dip stick top of, tube is green, black manfolds, green heads/ block/ oil pan / t stat housing ( same color as truck ) motorcraft oil filter, new fuel pump that has filter in it. in line clear filter, black fan , cast color gen and starter, balck inter fenders, green body, ford dist and wires, and i think balck or cast gen brakets. ok i am going to have to repalce the wp any suggestions on color??

also if I get rich i am thinking about adding rams horns or headers( any suggestion on coating?? i am thinking cermaic but am open) if rams horns any suggestions on paint?? dont want to have to keep re doing?? cermaic maybe???

here is kind of my delima the truck for the most part except for rims/ running boards is stock it will more than likely be alum slots but rims could change to stock if i ever find a desent cheep set, I am thinking if i can find chrome accessorys of adding them, like chrome or alum t stat housing, maybe chrome gen brakets, orginal style chrome oil cap, and maybe finding an oil bath air cleaner and having it chromed or painted balck, chrome oil filter cover and chrome starter/ gen covers chrome dip stick. I have thought about alum valley pan cover but dont know. I could also sometime add orginal style power steering and pump which will require diff exhuast than i have now. hince the ram horns or the headers. also a fuel pressure guage is going to be added close to the carb.but probly hidden by the air cleaner or close to it.

So if you were judging it at a car show what would you think with any or all or back to stock options above? I am open to suggestions? or does this require a pic of the truck? I would at least keep the chrome valve covers unless i find a set of merc valve covers and paint or chrome them, but besides that i dont know. It is a lot closer to stock than anything and i know that judging would depend on the style of car show it was at. but suggestions? what is to much that it loses any rep as being stock? or becoming to chessey?? or ???? thanks

I am of the opinion that you cannot have too much in the way of finished surfaces. That being said, the more low maint. finished surfaces you have the better. Go with ceramic or chrome or polished stainless, aluminum is good if you use some Zoop seal on it. That doesn't mean you can't use paint, color is an excellent way to make something stand out. The contrast between color and polish is awesome. Just my opinion, I always seem to have one

In my opinion and only an opinion, if I go to a show and see a "stock" looking truck (thats what I like) I rush over to look at it. Its a real let down for me to see the under hood modifications you have stated.

If you plan on doing all the dress up stuff you say you might as well yank the boat anchor y block out and put something modern in.

I truly love a stock 53-56 ford truck, and 50 years later there are not many left in orignal form.

My truck is not "orignal" its restored to very close to orignal.
