oil question
1987 fuel injected 300-6. When the oil starts to show black on the stick, is the oil done for? When i first got this truck i ran normal shell oil, ran it a while then changed it to shell rotella t 15w40.(this is the second oil change) Well it shows light black on the paper towel but on the stick it still shows well what ever oil looksd like before it turns black, darker than new but not quite black yet? i have about a thousand miles on it so far.. My wondering is do i run it the full 3000 miles? Or do i watch the dip stick and change it when it shows black on the stick? What do you all do?
