I have a 90 Bronco with auto hubs and want to convert to manual hubs. Mine are 5 bolt, Is there a adapter kit to go to the 6 bolt pattern. The only adapter kit I have found is for the 3 bolt autos.
I want to say if you have the 5 bolts then you should be ok to just get a set of lock out hubs and swap everything out.
Just curious, what is the truck going to be used for, and what company, type are you looking at getting?
I'm in the middle of doing this swap. Got one side done, and taking lunch break before doing the other side.
Pretty straight forward, except the Warn instructions aren't clear that you don't use the toothed spacer and lock ring from the old set-up. If you do, the hob is too far out to get the retaining ring on. Minor hickup.
Also, the torque spec's are hard to find in the Haynes or Chiltons.
The inner bearing retainer gets torqued to 50ft/lbs, then backed out 90 degrees.
MAKE SURE THE LITTLE DOWEL IS POINTING TOWARDS YOU!!!
Install the ring with the holes in it, and tweek the bearing retainer nut until the ring will slide over the little dowel.
Then install the outer retaining nut to 160ft/lbs. My torque wrench only went to 150, so I torqued it to that, then gave it another good push.
Then the hub goes on, the snap ring, the retaining ring, and the outer cap.
Jeff's Bronco Graveyard has the besst prices I found. $105 for the hubs and conversion kit.
OK...
I did the passenger side in about 10 minutes.
I didn't even take the wheel off this time.
I went for a short drive to a local gravel parking lot, and tested them out. They seem to work great.
Frogot to mention in previous rely that I got the Warn premiums.

I am going to use it for a snowplow, My next dilema is I have an 89 F150 4X4 that I just bought for my 16 yearold daughter. It has the hubs I want for the Bronco. And the autos may serve her well on the F150 since she is 16 and will "should" only be using it in the snow. will this swap work? Thanks Don
That should work, because they are basically the same models. One way to make sure would be to look at Company like Mile Marker and see if the product number is the same for both.
