I have a 1995 F150 with a 5.0 and would like to put a 5.8 long block in. Will all parts from 5.0 bolt onto 5.8. like intake, tranny, alt., water pump.ect.?
The 351 is both taller and wider due to the almost 1.3" inch deck height difference. The lower EFI intake will not swap. the exhaust manifolds will not hit the pipes - you will need a new Y. All the other crap bolts up.

Another ? Is it worth it to go to a 5.8 from a 5.0. My 5.0 has 175000 miles. I use it to tow a 5000lb travel trailer.I want to either have my 5.0 rebuilt at a engine shop here or buy a rebuilt 5.0 long block from a parts store or engine company. Or is a 5.8 swap that much better or worth it for pulling my camper?

a 351, even as low compression as they are, make a good bit of torque at low rpms. It would be cheaper than any rebuilt of a 302. However, if you wanna stay cheap and dont wanna spend $500 on a set of rods like I did, a 302 with better heads (even used) and a roller cam, will gain enuf hp to keep it legal going up a hill.....
or put it this way, how deep is your wallet? and heh heh, how far you from my shop? ;-) oooooops! blatant commercial content! lol
From what I am told , the 5.0 in my 1995 has a roller cam. The price they told me was $1600 for a rebuild,as long as the cam and crank can be redone. Does that sound right? By the way do you have a 5.8 already done and for sale?

The ford XXX casting has been roller-able since the 86 mustang gt....so I would not be surprised that the 95 has one, but it will be a different animal than say one of the '303' cams - E303, X303, B303 etc.
for the cam and crank, most people just swap them with kits from shops that specialize...1600 is ballpark, might do a few hundred better going with a Recon rebuild but they use bottom shelf parts....
I only rebuild on an as needed basis (unless some chevys) as I have space problems. If you like the truck and see the price of a new one, engines are cheap. Heck, I got $2500 in just my short block from parts and machine shop expenses....that does not count my labor (free), the heads, cam, other crap etc. Its definitely a labor of love when its your own.
