460 Needs Some plugs

I have a 96-f-350 with a 460 and generally when i buy spark plugs i buy the motorcraft plugs but is there something better to run maybe for more hp Also id rather get them at a local auto parts store than drive all the way to the ford dealer.

I don't think you'll find any horsepower with a plug change. I suggest using Autolite plugs.

+1 for Motorcraft. Gap 'em properly and keep the rest of your ignition system in good shape - should last you a good long time.

I have been partial to Champion plug for over 40 years. Gone a lot of miles with them and won a lot of races and championships with them. Then again you don't need to go to the dealer for Motorcraft plugs, most parts stores have them and way cheaper than the dealer too.

I lean to the plugs that have a nice chrome or shiney silver plate on them. The regular plugs seem to rust and get hard to remove.

I also recommend using some antisieze on the threads and maybe some dielectric grease on the plug boots. Both will make removing the plugs much easier in the future.

I run Bosch platinum plus plugs in my tricked up 460 and they run great
