Just a quick question. what is the diference between the warn heavyduty and the mile marker heavyduty locking hubs? why are the mile markers cheaper, and is it worth the extra money for the warns?
in recent studies (i sound all smart and stuff) the milemarkers were found to be stronger than warn! they have more metal in them whereas the warns have plastic dials and stuff inside. i would recommend the MM's as they seem to be gaining a higher reputation than Warn. only reason they are cheaper is to help compete with them. i bought a set of MM's for my powerstrkoke and if i had to do it over again i'd do it over and over! i'll be going to MM's on my bronco when i upgrade to 35 spine stubs!

Fishy's on crack again. I mean, who ran the studies, milemarker? Anyways the warn premiums ARE all metal construction and they ARE the strongest aftermarket hubs available.

And? Thats not a study, its a review. And by a questionable mag at that. Besides which, it doesn't say mm is better than warn, it just talks about them both and lists each of their advantages vs disadvantages.

Yes, you sound like a friggin rocket scientist but I don't get where your information comes from when the article you reference clearly says:
Both hubs are all-metal construction and plastic is not used anywhere on the hubs.
Warn does make a hub with plastic components but it is not the Premium (heavy duty) that we're talking about here. The article doesn't say that the MM is stronger than the Warn nor is it by any means scientific, it's Joe Blow's comparrison of 2 hubs.

you'r right, thats not a study... that's like gospel man! you didn't realize that? and yes the first line on that website clearly states that MM's are bette than warns! DUUUUUUUH

you're not reading the article right then, it actually clearly states that MM's are better b/c i say so! and BTW, why are you making fun of Joe Blow, he's a good friend of mine... so leave him alone!
my mm 35 splines were about 100 bucks cheaper than warns premium 35 spline lockouts. theres no difference i have ever seen to justify paying the extra 100 bucks for the warn name. and having held one of each in my hands, the mm;s are a good bit heavier...theres more beef in there somewhere??? And if you need all out strength, you should be running slugs
the only place that ive had aluminim stand up was on my zf.
of course pro's have lasted thus far, but time could tell differently.
the one thing that really mad eme leary of the warns was hte pot metal... i wouldnt have stuck that one to warn
the voices in my head are yelling at me now.

Now we are finally getting somewhere . I assume you didn't quote the first line of that "study" that says mm are clearly better because it says this:
"When it comes to choosing a set of hubs, it's not that easy since there's a few to choose from. Warn and MileMarker are two brands that come to mind of many fellow off-roaders. Unlike the winches, both brands of hubs operate in the same fashion. So the big question is, Which brand is better? Well, we'll try to give you the facts and you can make the decision yourself".
They never say one way or another. Typical major mag puerile drivel that doesn't really say anything one way or another.

Heres the thing; I think both the mm and warn premium offerings are probably pretty close in strength. That the warns are slightly stronger are simply my opinion and experience, but I'd say its close enough that its not worth spending the extra money on them either. IF, strength comparison is the only consideration. However, a big factor on whose parts I use is customer service. I break stuff, lots of stuff. I want a manufacturer to have excellent customer service and replace the stuff I break doing something stupid for free, and to so happily. Warn's top notch customer service is reknown, and that to me is what makes them worth the extra money.

I thought the only reason people bought milmarker hubs is because they don't make enough money to afford Warns? Kind of like buying yukon axles because they can't afford the really good stuff like warn or superior or dutchman shafts.
