Dustin: I have about 100 HotWheels, Matchbox, Tonka, and other. I generally get good muscle cars of any make, but stick to Ford trucks, with the exception of one Dodge stepbed with the vertical exhaust pipes. Tonka makes a nice SuperDuty that I have in yellow and now in white and black two tone with Boge Trailer on the side. Have two Matchbox '56 F100s, a red with Texaco on door and a green with a produce store logo on the door. Have many others, but my favorite (and I am looking at it right now) is the HotWheels '79 F150 that was recently on the shelves. It had a gaudy preying mantis all down both sides, but I rubbed it out and painted over it, then added black in the grill and painted in turn signals, head lights, side marker lights, and taillights. I tore off the cap (hate caps on pickups, makes them look like an SUV) and cut a piece of black arcylic for a tonneau and cut the tail gate off the cap and slid it back in. This truck looks great! I take it to work every day to sit on my computer and take it home every night and it sits on the dinner table (my son has a couple cars and trucks on the dinner table too). We are toy car/truck nuts. I go to stores a couple times a week looking for new stuff. Why, just last night I bought a Johnny Lightning 1950 Ford F1.
Hey Paul I mostly look for Ford trucks too. I also watch for variations and just cool cars that I like. I've got an Ertl Superduty dually you might like, but I think my favorite is the Sam Walton 1979 Ford.

Dustin: I see you have the '56 panel. I have it and a white one in the package and one of the silver ones I painted the roof and roof sides white and then highlited between and on top the fenders with a bright pink. You also have the '79 F150 Mantis. When I first saw that one I grabbed four: One for son, one for daughter, and two for me. I since grabbed two more. Three are painted up like I described and my daughter wants hers painted up too. Don't have any truck photos handy, but here is a 80's mustang in Miesto (prob misspelled) brand:

Dustin: I am not sure I am aware of the Ertl unless they are the more expensive ones. I almost bought an F350 SD with opening hood and highly detailed for $3 but in the checkout saw paint smeared on the tailgate. I assume the Sam Walton is a variation of the Mantis '79 F150. I wonder if enough others are interested in Hot Wheels, etc? So far it hasn't gone over that big on this site, but it would be nice to have a forum on Hot Wheels and other small trucks, models, etc. I am thinking of going to a resale or specialty shop to look for used Matchbox or other Ford trucks. Maybe I can get a '65 F100 or something.
Paul, here's a pic of the Sam walton and the Dually.Hopefully by next week I will have most of my Hotwheels scanned and up on Photopoint. P.S. all these pics were just scanned with an ordinary flatbed scanner.

Intensive die cast collector here! I have approx. 5000 Hot Wheels, Matchbox, JL/Mantis, Racing Champions. Also have about 500 I actually took OUT OF THE PACKAGE (Ha!) and have in display cases. Franklin Mint models, Renwal, Tootsietoy, some Ertl & Tonka, as well as promos and 1/25 scale kits round out my collection. Would love to see a seperate section for this type of thing. The Sam Waltons are great, the local Wal Mart couldn't sell many at $4.95, so alot ended up being marked down to $1.50...
i've got tons also, its a shame they sell HotWheels and milk at the same store. i have somewhere in the range of 400 unopened and about half as many more opened so my 5yr. old daughter doesnt get too curious. most of my collection consists of fords and ford variants, regardless of manufacturer i usually pick up a few. european fords are my current interest, mainly the escort cosworth. i collect First Editions, international, and some specialty makes for stores like Walgreens,JC whitney, Jiffy Lube etc. gotta go before the wife sees how many i have now!
Any of you guys have the new Harley 5 Pack ? The one with the Bronco, '79 F-150, '97 f-150, '40 Ford, and teh'56 Ford all with Harley Davidson logos on them. I've looked everywhere, so maybe they're not available in Canada. I picked up the Mooneyes set today, I almost like it more than the Sam Walton!

Dustin: The Sam Walton is beautiful. I would take it over my modified Mantis 79 F150 any day. I have never seen an ERTL in two years of looking around, but I sure would like that Superduty.

well i don't know who makes these but i have 3 great "models" as i call them on top of my computer here... i got a 56 f1 thats solid red, the doors open and shut... it needs a repaint "little sister" and i got a smaller 56 f1 that has a scoop sticking up out of the hood... with some type of green badging on the sides and then i have a 57 t-bird convertible.. red and white, immacutlate.. these will all be collectors someday... *yes i called em models.. but i know they all came as toys..*
Just got a Matchbox #91 "Ford Dump/Utility Truck" (1 to 79 scale) on my lunch break. It's a red superduty and has the utility cabinets on the sides. Is 4WD with transfer case and both pumpkins detailed on the bottom. Door says Matchbox Bilt like a contractor's truck. I got this to open and now am kicking myself for not getting the another to keep in the package as they had two.
