Carb spacer
I was at the airport the other day, and one of the airlines here uses the 1979 300/6 equiped trucks to pull the airplanes around. The hood was open on one, and naturally I peeked in. The carb/manifold spacer on the truck had taps for vacuum hoses, but was otherwise plain. The one on my truck has a huge aparatus coming off of it with some kind of diaphram that used to have something to do with the air pump. Do any of you guys know where I can purchase one of these simple spacers so I can toss the monstrosity that's on there now?

That huge thingy-ma-bob is the EGR valve. The tractor you seen didn't have one becuase it was manufactured for "off road use only". Though I might make a great rag top for use in L.A. traffic. Several after market company's make those (non-egr) spacers and you will more then likely find one at any part store.
