fuel tank question

I have a 1992 f-250 4x4 with two tanks Can any one tell me if a bronco tank will fit in the rear tank location, the bronco tank is a 33 gal tank and the stock p/u tank is an 18 gallon tank. I am sure that I will need new straps and new sending unit but I was wondering if anyone has completed this swap.

Thank in advance
Hans

Yes it has been done before. You are right in needing new straps and the bronco fuel pump. You will need to loose or modify the spare tire/carrier though, since the bronco tank is deeper. The tank is shorter so you will need 'something' to keep it from sliding back and forth. The wiring & hoses are a direct plug in I beleive.

I have done this swap. I used a 90 or later bronco tank on my 90 f-150. I made a crossmember out of heavy angle and using the bronco skid plate I bolted the front in the stock location and the rear to the new crossmember. Then I bolted the angle to the frame to make it solid. The electrical connectors swap and I used the original fuel lines.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post I think that I will do the swap I dont have a spare tire carrier due to my rear bumper / trailer hitch / air tank. It is a 8 " well casing converted in to an air tank The new tank will come in handy when I am plowing snow I wont have to stop for gas all the time

Thanks
Hans
