i have a 96 e250 that just suddenly died so i messed with it a bit and found the pcm fuse under the hood was blown does anyone know what would cause this i havent tried to replace it yet i wanted to get some input before i get into it thanks Bill
Well, that fuse blew for the same reason any fuse blows, too much current overheating the wire. You'll have to check the wiring for a ground short or connection problem...
I assume "cpm" is meant to be PCM, or the vehicle's engine computer?
It's in the firewall, on the drivers side, down under the brake master cylinder. You'll see 3 or so big wire connectors going into the firewall. The one closest to the fender is the computer's plug. The computer sits in a little cubby in the firewall.
