How's it going? I want to get my transmission fluid flushed. I called Midas, Meineke, Jiffy Lube, and it will roughly cost around $120. It's a complete flush, but it'll be upwards of $200 for them to drop the pan and change out the filter. I don't believe the filter has ever been changed out on my truck. Would it be a good idea to pay extra get it replaced, or is it not necessary?
How hard is it to do it myself? Drop the pan, drain, change filter, clean pan, make sure gasket is still good, drain torque converter, and fill. Now there should be a couple quarts left in there. How would I flush all that out. If I do it this way I could save money and even spend more for some RedLine fluid. How much does a quart of that cost BTW? Can't find it anywhere. Any help would be great. Thanks.
I've got 2 options. I can bring it to Meineke where they said they would do the flush and the filter for $90, which isn't too bad, or do it myself. Thanks for link.
