I own a 02 F-350 V-10 auto crewcab dually that when climbing up hills and you give slightly more gas you don't get that unlock or what people refer as a half shift.Truck will only downshift to third with heavier throttle. My question is,What controls the unlock on the coverter and is it a major repair. I bought the truck used but bought the big extended warranty because of all the electronics on this truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It will only drop to third. Tried letting off the gas and back on and will not drop to anything but third with heavy trottle. It acts like it does in 2nd or 3rd will only drop to next lower gear in fourth.
Does the RPM change at all at highway speeds when you push the gas a little bit more and then let off a little bit? Does it go up and down about 200-300 RPM if it doesn't downshift?
