glow plug light came on?
i was just out and about and on my way home i made a quick stop, and then headed home, and on the way home i looked at my speed and noticed that my glow plug light had come on, i pulled over and shut the truck off and restarted it and everything was fine after. this morning when i left the house everything worked fine and the truck started great, anyone have this happen to them and any ideas what it could be, or should i not worry about it??

The glow plugs on my old 90 would come on intermittantly on the road. The light didn't come on, but I could see the headlights dim at night and the voltmeter would drop, then come back up. It fried a couple of glow plugs, and Ford found a loose connection on the relay and fixed it. Didn't fix it completely however, since the relay would thereafter time out short. I would then watch the voltmeter and start the engine when the meter jumped back up, indicating the end of the glow cycle. that worked OK. I later lost another glow plug; apparently having them come on with the engine running fast and hot is hard on them.
Bottom line; if it happens again try and fix it before you fry the plugs.

I have a 02 F-250 and I have had the same problem. I have started it up and leave then look down and the glow plug light is still on. I then stop at the first opportunity and shut it off. Restart and everything works fine again. This has happend to me about 3 times over the past year and I still do not know why it happens. I just figure my truck forgets to turn it off sometimes.
